COVID-19 update
Hands and DSO NER services are open and operational during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure continued support to our most vulnerable clients and families.
DSO NER continues to offer assessments and staff are answering our phone at 1-855-376-6376 and email dso@handstfhn.ca.
To help protect our clients, our employees and the public, we are actively screening any clients and visitors to ensure they are not presenting any symptoms, have not been in contact with a sick individual and have not recently travelled outside of Canada. Anyone answering yes to the screening questions will be offered online/telephone counselling.
We recognize that some of the service agencies we work with to serve clients have made the decision to limit client sessions to an online-only format. At this time, Hands remains open for in-person assessments, as long as the client meets the requirements of our screening process.

MCCSS Compliance
The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) conducts compliance inspections of all ministry-funded Developmental Services Ontario agencies under the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008 (SIPDDA). DSO NER was found to be in compliance with Ontario Regulation 299/10 of SIPDDA (Quality Assurance Measures) and/or policy directives applicable to MCCSS-funded services and supports for adults with developmental disabilities. Update your information
It is important to keep your area DSO up to date when there are any changes in your situation. For example, call us if you are planning to move or change your phone number. This helps us to make sure that we have your current contact information and to confirm that you wish to remain on the service registry.
